CIFOR-ICRAF

The research assistant (RA) will assist and support project activities including fieldwork for data collection, literature review, data management, and other relating research activities on projects. The RA will also support project management particularly in liaising with project partners, supporting information for proposal development. The RA will also assist in data processing at the laboratory as well as oversee activities and maintenance of CIFOR-ICRAF laboratory in Bogor.

Duties and responsibilities

Details
of duties, assignments and objectives will be further discussed and laid out in
the staff’s annual performance contract.

  • Ensure
    research data is well managed and ready for further analysis both qualitative
    and quantitative approaches.

  • On tribute at least one research publication every year, including international
    journal/working paper/policy brief/forest news.

  • Support
    data collection of research projects including secondary and primary data.

  • Assist
    data processing in both quantitative and qualitative methods.

  • Manage
    laboratory and field equipment inventories in accordance to GLP.

  • Support
    project management including proposal development, liaising with partners in
    Indonesia

Education, knowledge and experience

• BSc (Environmental science or related) is essential or related experience.
• Field work experience in biophysics and social data collection.
• Able to operate MS Office package.
• Laboratory work experience including sample preparation and using laboratory machines).
• Moderate in English both writing and speaking.

Terms and conditions

• This is a Locally Recruited Staff (LRS) position. CIFOR-ICRAF offers competitive remuneration in local currency, commensurate with skills and experience.
• The appointment will be for 1 (one) year with the possibility of extension contingent upon performance, continued relevance of the position and available resources.
• The duty station will be in Bogor, Indonesia.
