Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s academic background, skill-set, the Intern’s assigned office and duration of internship. Under the Supervision of the Coordinator, duties may include but are not limited to:

•Support the Coordinator of the Freshwater, Land and Climate Branch and team members within UN Environment;

•Contribute to UN Decade related tasks such as set up UN Decade partnership and structures;

•Assist in the organization and servicing of consultation meetings/seminars internal meetings and coordination meetings for UN Decade;

•Draft minutes and briefings;

•Carry out other duties on a needs basis.

Team Leader, Resource Development and Partnerships

The Team Leader for Resource Development and Partnerships will work closely with all leadership teams and across various organizations to enable strategic, disciplined and sustainable financial growth in the future. The purpose of the job is to lead and drive implementation of CIFOR and joint resource mobilization and funder relation strategies, and to strengthen research partnerships to ensure the delivery of CIFOR Strategy 2016–2025: Stepping up to the new climate and development agenda.

Communications Interns

UN Environment’s Ecosystems Division works with international and national partners, providing technical assistance and advisory services for the implementation of environmental policy, and strengthening the environmental management capacity of developing countries and countries with economies in transition. This position is located in the Ecosystems Division at the Nairobi duty station.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Impact Assessment Specialist

CIFOR is committed to both strengthening and credibly evidencing the translation of its research, engagement and capacity-strengthening efforts into tangible development impacts, particularly in relation to CGIAR’s Strategic Results Framework (SRF) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). CIFOR’s internal Research to Impact (RTI) team is responsible for developing and implementing appropriate methodologies to deliver on this objective.

The RTI team is seeking an appropriately skilled, senior Impact Assessment Specialist to support the RTI team leader in the management and coordination of CIFOR’s planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning portfolio. The position will share responsibility for supporting the strategic coordination and alignment of CIFOR’s research portfolio with institutional and international results frameworks, embedding an impact-oriented culture across CIFOR and building an evidence base for how CIFOR’s transdisciplinary research is contributing to development outcomes.
